Statistics – graphs include stemplots and parallel boxplots (Chapter 15) Identify everyday questions and issues involving at least one numerical and at least one categorical variable and collect data directly from secondary sources. Construct back-to-back stem-and-leaf plots and histograms and describe data using terms including “skewed”, “symmetrical” and “bi-modal”. Compare data using mean, median for centre and range, standard deviation for spread to describe and interpret numerical data sets in terms of location. Z-scores for comparing data (**Extended classes only) Indices – basic index laws plus negative & fractional powers (Chapter 5) Applying index laws and interpreting the meaning of any rational index. Consumer Arithmetic – Applications include profit and loss, commission and taxation (Chapter 3) Solve problems involving profit and loss, with and without digital technologies.
