Title: Australian soldiers carry 'the little digger' along George Street, Sydney in triumph after the Prime Minister returned from the Paris Peace Conference in 1919
Analysis: The photograph conveys the domestic support shown towards Billy Hughes, especially after his actions in Paris which gained his popularity. This provides evidence that Hughes’s actions in Paris were keeping Australia’s best interests in mind, and in doing this he gained the nations popularity. Therefore, the domestic motive influencing Hughes’s actions in Paris gains more weight as the popularity from his actions can be clearly seen above.
