What Christmas Means To Me

Day 12

Kenny waited eagerly for his guests to arrive.

“Do you reckon they are going to come to Platty P.?”

“I’m not sure Kenny,” replied Parker, barely fazed.

Kenny’s mind began circling “Yes, they were friends, but will they really come and support me when we have only met once? And what if they have their own families and don’t think that I’m worthy of their time on Christmas day?” The doorbell rang, and Kenny crossed his fingers (and toes) that it was his friends. He checked the door and to his surprise, he saw Dudley the dingo - alone. Out of everyone he was expecting Dingo the least, but at least he had someone! But then, as he walked outside to greet Dudley, he peered around the corner and saw all of his other friends! Tilly the turtle, Damo the Dugong, you name it! They were all there! Kenny was filled with joy - his hair stuck up around his stomach and he started to get chills. He finally understood the meaning of Christmas and he was happier than he had ever been before. Kenny had set out a special Christmas lunch for all of his friends. Everyone took their places and sat down for their special meal - they devoured every piece of it! He was so glad that the countless hours he had spent in the kitchen had not gone to waste.

To celebrate, Parker set up the camera and took a very special shot. This photo would be cherished and displayed forever.

What a great end to Christmas day!
