What Christmas Means To Me

Day 11

‘WHOMP.’

The house lands softly back in its place at Whistle Lane. Confident in knowing what Christmas means, Kenny decided to go audition for the play again. When he returned to the audition, the Director asked him to perform his piece. He nailed it! Then, the Director asked the one question he was eager to answer.

“What does Christmas mean to you, Kenny?” asked the Director.

“Christmas to me is about family and friends, as without them Christmas wouldn’t even exist! They’ll always stick by you, even through the toughest of times. You also need to be grateful for what you have - it’s a time to relax and zone out with the people who mean the most to you. Be thankful and forgiving to people for things they may have done, and give back to people who give a lot to you. You should accept people, no matter their looks, as everyone is different and special. Having hope is also very important, as if you have faith, you can make it through anything. Lastly, you must be loving and caring.” said Kenny

The director stared in awe. He was amazed at how much he had grown as a person.

“Amazing answer Kenny! The part is yours!” replied the Director

Jumping with joy, Kenny squealed and danced around. But, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Cody the Croc - he looked sad, and walking away from the stage, slumped over. Feeling bad, Kenny ran over to Croc.

“Hey Croc, are you alright?” asked Kenny.

“Yeah, I’m just a bit sad,” replied Croc “You deserve the role, I just think it would’ve been really cool.”

“I know you’re a great actor, so I think you deserve this role,” said Kenny.

“Really?” questioned Croc

“Yes! You can have my spot - I know the true meaning of Christmas, and that’s all I really need. This is your Christmas gift from me,” replied Kenny.
