What Christmas Means To Me

Day 5 (Peace)

‘WHOMP.’

Water flew through the cracked windows and floorboards hitting Parker in the face.

“Oh no, not again!” Kenny exclaimed. The whole house swayed from side to side ,and they lost their balance, hitting each other in the head.

“I think I’m going to be sick,” Kenny proclaimed.

“Water!” Kenny said with excitement as he quickly rose to his feet. He ran to the front door and gasped as if he had seen a ghost.

“Platty P! We’re at the Great Barrier Reef, I’ve always wanted to come here!” At the speed of light , he dove into the water, splashing around like a kid in a water park. He laid on his back and glided through the water with ease. Parker stumbled to the door and was taken aback by the view. “Crikey! Would you look at that. It’s b-beautiful!” Parker sputtered. The water glistened in the sunshine, with the bright and colourful sea life down below. He dropped down on to his knees to get a closer look at the coral down below, but was startled as a large marine animal swam underneath the house. He was so amazed that he lost his balance and fell into the water.

“Kenny!” Parker shouted, “Did you see that? Something big is under the house!”

Kenny swam swiftly towards the house to get a better look.

“Where is it? I don’t see anything but small schools of fish,” Kenny said, sticking his head under the water.

A soft call, coming from the distance began to grow louder.
