The Wordsmiths Book 2021
A lion’s bravery
It was in that moment, that I imagined you as a lion defending his pride, whose roars of its once-proud platoon were drowned by the whimpers and cries born by a perpetrator that seemed as merciless as an unrelenting flood. One that chose to swim against the never-ending tide, not pouncing on the monster’s weapon, but instead valiantly looking past his booming gunpowder to swim into the hollow eyes that lay behind the terrible steel that fell his comrades. Eyes, that he realised, were just as scared as his.
