My Santiago
Lost in her eyes – on looking at the painting of Medusa. (08/03/2018)
She looked at me And my heart Turned to stone.
I tried to walk away, To turn my back on the pain, But her eyes pulled me back, Turned me around, Trapped my feet, Immobile, to the muddy ground.
I was lost, In her eyes, And though I knew
She would bring me grief, I stayed, turned, looked, And pledged my stone heart Long dead like a wilted leaf; To her.
