My Santiago

Stratford-upon-Avon (April 1993)

Mist sits heavy about the house.

Leaves scurry, -autumnal filigrees- Joining undergrowths, Amber – hued.

Moon peeks, Timid through mist breaks, Uneasy in alien surrounds.

Cold clings, Damp and enveloping.

And with each breath, Sharp daggers of steam rent the air.
