Although Botswana does provide free HIV treatment, Botswana is still one of the largest HIV epicentres in the world. In contrast to Australia having one of the highest HIV testing rates in the world, Botswana has one of the lowest testing rates along with very little knowledge of the impacts of AIDS. These factors keep the prevalence rates extremely high (borgenproject, 2020). Therefore, in recent years, HIV testing has been directly encouraged in Botswana as can be shown by the online poster in figure 11.
