Communication Change

Unit 3: Noise Pollution or Good Music? In this unit you will learn about the evolution of different rock styles and their characteristics from the early 1950s to the 1980s, by studying representative expels and their important performers. These rock styles are: rock ‘n’ roll, soul, heavy rock, progressive rock, reggae, commercial pop, disco and rap. In addition, you will study The Beatles and their important place in the development of rock music. An understanding of the musical concepts of duration, pitch, dynamics and expressive techniques, timbre, texture and structure will be gained. Unit 4: Monuments or Epitaphs In this unit you will learn about some of the world’s famous composers and their music by studying examples that have achieved great popularity and have lasting appeal. The historical periods included in the unit are: baroque, classical, romantic, twentieth century. An understanding of the musical concepts of duration, pitch, dynamics and expressive techniques, timbre, texture and structure will be gained.
