- SWOT analysis

- Lewin’s Force Field analysis

A SWOT analysis is a simple tool to aid business in identifying external and internal factors affecting the organization. SWOT analysis enables a better understanding of how the business operates and discover what areas need improving. IT is a useful tool to predict changes needing to be addressed, to make sure the business is successful. Lewin's force field analysis is used to differentiate the factors within a situation that drive an organization towards or away from a desired state. These factors are called driving and restraining forces (Connelly, 2017). Managers allocate a weight to each of these factors, from 1 (weak) until 5 (strong). Using this model, CEO’s can discover how (if required) to improve the probability of success. I should also consider limitations of business tools used. The SWOT analysis is based on assumptions; for instance, another analyst may label a “strength” as an “opportunity”. Moreover, the SWOT matrix does not offer alternative decisions or provide solutions. Lewin's Force Field analysis is rather arbitrary. Even though all weightings are justified, it is likely that another analyst may weight things differently depending on personal judgment. This section will present a combination of these tools and explore stakeholder perspectives and impacts resulting from Tesla’s motivational strategies. The SWOT component enables me to identify and distinguish how these motivational strategies impact internal and external stakeholders. Then combining that with Lewin’s Force Field Analysis allows me to clearly see the strength and significance of these impacts.
