Greek and Roman Mythology

 Factors leading to the Fall of the Roman Empire  The transition from late Antiquity to the Middle Ages in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Near East.  Social, cultural and organisational changes  Splitting the Empire into Eastern and Western halves, and included personalities and themes that delve into political and moral intrigue, personal agendas and hotbeds of gossip. The philosopher Peter Singer claims that the 20 th Century was one of the most peaceful in human history, yet when we think about the major events of the 20 th Century we imagine napalm and AK47s. This unit will encourage students to investigate these 20 th Century conflicts and will give students opportunities to investigate topic/s of their own choice. Unit 2: The Killing Fields

The modern world has seen the phenomenon of communities who, having lived together for generations, suddenly turn on each other and kill their neighbours. This unit will look at the history of genocide, culminating in the study of some early 20 th Century genocides:  Herero  Armenian Assessment In Year 10 History students complete four summative assessments.
