The Prince Who Stole Music

Prince could not take it anymore. This was the last straw. Prince jumped to his feet, and stood, hands on his hips, eyes glaring down all of the people in the chamber.

His voice boomed. “Does anyone know what day it is today?” Silence was the response. This only made Prince’s voice louder. “Does ANYONE know what day it is today?” Again, silence filled the room. Prince’s face burned red with anger. “It is my birthday today! My eighteenth birthday! Why is nobody singing me Happy Birthday?!” His voice echoed throughout the chamber. “You all forgot, eh? Well, you know what? If nobody will sing for me, nobody will sing for anyone- ever!” Prince stared down each pair of terrified eyes. He spoke with intention; stressing each word he spoke: “From today, I declare that music- all music- shall be allowed no more!”

And the only sound which followed was a deafening silence.
