YEAR 12 GEOGRAPHY (OP) COURSE OUTLINE

The Geography course studies different aspects of the Physical, Economic, Social geography of the world in which we live. Semester 1 is a study of Human and Economic Geography with a focus on inequities that exist and the reasons for these. The study also looks at the geography of Health and Disease and the issues associated with feeding a growing population. Semester 2 looks at the principles of Physical Geography and how these impact on people in local, national and global situations. This is done through the study of a variety of different natural hazards and their impacts.
