Whimsical Worlds showcases the work of one of the Gold Coast’s most prolific and well-established illustrators. Lucia Masciul lo is an award-winning children’s book illustrator born and raised in Livorno, Italy. She moved to Australia in 2007 and has been illustrating children’s books here ever since. Strongly connected to place, she interprets her various illustration styles through one very distinct lens. Lucia’s sensitive and intimate observations encourage imagined narratives and prompt nostalgic memories for the reader. The feel, sound and scents of the stories are invoked through depictions of Lucia’s unique illustration style. Whimsical Worlds draws the reader into the sensorial experience of each stories ever-changing landscape.
