I care
I want to say this, I want to be heard by the crowd, That I did stand apart
And state my case, Not pretend to care about our earth, tinkering around the edges But never taking a stand
Never calling out the old fat white fat men
who don’t look past their own mortality, Knowing full well that they won’t be around when this planet implodes; So I say this, I care, I do, And I dare to be different, To risk being seen as not middle class,
As one of us, not them, So that when it comes, As it will, I won’t be happy that I was right But at least, I was
