Franklin House Captains book 2019
House Activities Day This is a fun filled day where many different activities are going on. Beforehand, do your best to allocate people to each activity who want to be there. Try to organise students in your own activity to make sure everyone has a turn, is having fun and that everyone is working together. Service Learning – House Charity Service learning is a huge aspect of the House. ‘Purple Faces’, is a very highly anticipated evening of enjoyment, but it is important to remember that it is for the greater cause of crisis and emergency accommodation for women and children as a part of Still Waters through the Salvation Army. Aim to get as many people involved as possible. The house charity is the one of the only aspects that isn’t a competition, it is about putting others needs before your own, and this is an important part of succeeding in your role as a captain. Age group managers and other captains The other seniors are there to support you in your role. Remember to take advantage of their advice and delegate jobs to them if you are feeling overwhelmed. Age group managers can be allocated for each age level which gives the seniors more of a role, while helping things run more efficiently. In turn, make sure you are supported other seniors/ captain in times that are busy for them. The people surrounding you are good leaders as well, so let them help you in building Franklin to be to the inclusive and supportive house we all know it is.

Highlight of our Captaincy The highlight of the year was seeing the way in which Franklin came together and worked as a team, making sure no lane or race was ever left empty during all the carnivals. It was terrific to see the team work and sportsmanship demonstrated by each Franklin individual.
