Athletics Carnival Programme 2023

WELCOME Welcome to the 41st Annual Somerset College Inter-House Athletics Carnival. Thank you for supporting our Spartans during this important sporting event. We hope that you will be impressed by the standard of performances and positive attitude displayed by our students. The Junior and Senior Schools will have over 1,400 students competing in approximately 350 races over the whole carnival and approximately 112 field events, therefore around 14,000 throws and jumps. For 3 days each year, we expect our teachers to become Track and Field “experts”, so please be empathetic of their efforts in dealing with such an enormous volume of events and students. We hope the focus is on participation and House spirit. Instructions to Competitors If you find a field event and track event you are competing in are scheduled for the same time: the track event takes precedence. Inform the Field Event Marshal of your intention to compete, then report to the track event. Track events will not be delayed. You must return to the field event before its scheduled conclusion.
