Therefore, I can conclude that the depiction of women in Athenian art was partially accurate. Even though women were represented in Athenian art as having political power and status. Whereas, in reality, they faced severe oppression and did not have any political status in Athenian society.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion through the comparison of women in literature in the Okios and the Polis I can conclude that the representation of women in Athenian art was partially accurate to women. This is because, in mythology women were represented as being domestically oppressed however, they held some power over the patriarchal system. Yet, women represented in literature were depicted inaccurately because women were mocked for their political and domestic aspirations.
