Scientific and Technical Innovation
Introduction to Robotics:
Project 1 (Criteria A, B, C, D)
Students will be introduced to the various ways that robots and automation are used in our society. Ethical concerns related to the use of robots, artificial intelligence and automation of work, will be explored.
ONE
Students will learn the fundamentals of robots and develop robotic prototypes using Lego EV3 Mindstorms.
Digital Marketing and Big Data:
Project 2 (Criteria A, B, C, D)
Develop techniques to acquire, store and validate data to build target market audience information. Use this information to reveal geospatial variations and develop explanations for differences. Consider the privacy and security implications of how data are used and controlled, and suggest how policies and practices can be improved to ensure the sustainability and safety of information systems.
TWO
Analyse and visualise geospatial data to build on information and address the complex ethical problems related to privacy and big data.
Understand the fundamentals of how a relational database is designed and used by people and organisations. Should there be regulations around the use of big data and digital marketing practices?
